Semax

Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide based on a fragment of ACTH 4-10 with a proline-glycine-proline tail added to the C-terminus. That tail is the functional part of the design: the native fragment is degraded within minutes, and the addition extends stability enough to make the peptide usable.

Research interest centres on BDNF expression and effects on the cholinergic system, and importantly the ACTH-derived sequence retains no corticotropic activity, so the hormonal effects of the parent molecule are absent. Supplied lyophilised per vial.
