PT-141 is bremelanotide, a metabolite of melanotan II with a markedly different receptor profile: the deletion of the C-terminal amide shifts activity toward MC4R and away from the MC1R pigmentation pathway. That single structural change is what makes it useful as a research tool, because it isolates central melanocortin signalling from the peripheral effects that complicate work with the parent compound.

Research attention centres on MC4R activity in the central nervous system rather than any peripheral mechanism. Supplied lyophilised per vial.

Store sealed at -20 C, reconstitute with bacteriostatic water, refrigerate the working solution and keep it away from light. Other melanocortin compounds in stock: Melanotan I and Melanotan II.

See our lab reports for purity data. For laboratory research use only.
