VIP is vasoactive intestinal peptide, a 28-amino-acid neuropeptide acting on the VPAC1 and VPAC2 receptors. It belongs to the same structural family as secretin and glucagon, which is worth knowing because that family relationship explains part of its receptor cross-reactivity.
Research spans vasodilation, immune modulation and its role as a neurotransmitter, and it is one of the more pleiotropic peptides in this catalogue, meaning study designs need to be specific about which system is being measured. Supplied lyophilised per vial.
Store sealed at -20 C, reconstitute with bacteriostatic water, keep the working solution refrigerated and shielded from light. Related peptides in stock: oxytocin, KPV.
