Cagrilintide is a long-acting amylin analogue, and it matters in incretin research precisely because amylin is a separate pathway from GLP-1. Native amylin is co-secreted with insulin but aggregates readily, which makes it impractical to work with; cagrilintide is engineered for solubility and a much longer half-life while keeping activity at both the calcitonin and amylin receptor families.
That is why it appears most often as the second half of a combination rather than on its own. Supplied lyophilised per vial.
Store sealed at -20 C, reconstitute with bacteriostatic water, refrigerate the working solution and keep it out of light. Studied together with semaglutide, and stocked as the fixed combination CagriSema.
