Mazdutide is a GLP-1 and glucagon receptor dual agonist, which makes it a useful contrast to the GIP-based dual agonists that dominate this class. Where tirzepatide pairs GLP-1 with GIP, mazdutide pairs it with glucagon, so comparing the two isolates what each second receptor actually contributes.
It derives from oxyntomodulin, a naturally occurring gut peptide with intrinsic activity at both receptors, rather than from a purely synthetic scaffold. Supplied lyophilised per vial.
Store sealed at -20 C, reconstitute with bacteriostatic water, refrigerate the working solution and protect it from light. Researchers running multi-receptor comparisons usually include retatrutide, which adds glucagon on top of both incretin arms, and survodutide.
